Certificate IV Aeroskills Avionics – Component Maintenance Workshop Stream (MEA40615)

This Aeroskills qualification may be suited to students wishing to gain a pathway into an indentured apprenticeship in the Aviation Maintenance Industry, or employees of civil aviation maintenance organisations or to members of the ADF who perform scheduled inspections, fault diagnosis and repair, and modification of aircraft electrical, instrument and radio systems and system components. The qualification defines the exit from an apprenticeship and my apply to aircraft component maintenance performed on flight lines/ramps and in hangers, or to avionic component repair and overhaul performed in workshops.  The Component Maintenance Workshop Stream comprises of thirteen units of competency:

  • thirteen (13) core units consisting of common, imported and avionic technical stream units
  • three (3) elective technical stream units chosen from Group B.

Option 3: By arrangement with employers due to enterprise capability in student release times
How long to complete this course
36 weeks fulltime with semester breaks.
What fees are payable?
$ 2,000 (GST Free) Apprenticeship NSW government subsidised fee
$ 3,820 (GST Free) Targeted Priorities Full Qualification - NSW Government Subsidised Fee
$ 18,040 (GST Free) Non subsidised fee
RPL can be conducted at anytime through negotiation with individuals and employers and cost will be based on individual assessment. Concessions and exemptions are available for eligible students
Additional Course Costs
Building Levy: $450 per year payable on enrolment and then yearly
Course Resources: $250 per year
Textbooks will be approximately $500
Do I study in Tamworth?
Yes. You will need to be in Tamworth for 36 weeks to attend full-time face to face training.

Do I need an apprenticeship with an employer?
No - but we recommend you do.
Does my Certificate course give me credits for a diploma course?
Yes. This Certificate IV will gain credits towards a Diploma.
Does my Certificate course count as credit towards a CASA or EASA qualification?

What about gaining credit for past courses or my professional experience?

Boeing predicts 650,000 maintenance engineers will be needed by global aviation industries by 2030. Completion of this course begins your journey to become an aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) with a civilian airline or maintenance and repair organization (MRO). Our Cert IV is nationally and internationally recognised.
